Social Design for Social Living is a program featuring artistic and research residencies; art activities at the crossroads of visual arts, design, and architecture; an exhibition; and a series of workshops, discussions, and public events. It was implemented in 2015 - 2017 in Indonesia and Poland by the Center for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle, collaborated with Polish and Indonesian art communities. The starting point for this long experiment was the vision of creating an artistic exchange and active cooperation between seemingly very distant cultures.

Social Design for Social Living aimed to make the public program and artworks presented in the exhibition a starting point for discussion about art as a tool for building community in different ways and distant places that can provide sustained social effects.
